What Does Independence Really Mean to Christian?

As we celebrate this Independence Day holiday, we must remember several things:

  1. Keep our families safe.
  2. Enjoy the time that we have worked so hard to treasure…Our Freedom.
  3. Remember that our Lord and Saviour is the reason that we have this great holiday.
  4. Say our prayers alone and with our families.

Independence comes once a year, and this is the time that all of America remembers the struggles that we have made to acquire this independence. The Lord tells us that without Him, no one returns to our Heavenly Father; without the Lord and His independence from the persecution that he endured America would not be here today.

In the scriptures, there are various examples of how Heavenly Father gave us freedom such as in Genesis: God frees us from all of the sin and has Noah build the Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah is destroyed and all sins are wiped out. Exodus: Freeing of the slaves from the Pharaoh, Matthew: The birth and death of Jesus, and various other scriptures.

Can we really say that we have remembered the right people on Independence Day; not saying that we should forget all of those that have secured the secular meaning of Independence Day? But as we remember the secular meaning of Independence Day, let’s remember the religious people and meaning behind Independence Day and say a pray and joyous thanks to our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and all those religious leaders who lead us in spiritual comfort.

God Bless all and have a safe and Happy Independence Day
